The 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are, in our opinion, is the only proven method of establishing long-term sobriety for people who suffer from drug addiction or alcoholism. By aligning Stepping Stone’s sober living program with the 12 Steps, we not only access the therapeutic value of the Steps, but also establish a support system for the clients.

Stepping Stones is equipped to house 14 women and 28 children at this time. The program is available to women at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level who reside in Washington County, have substance use issues, and are eligible for a reunification plan. In most instances, men  who live in sober homes have to follow certain house rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. Living in this type of environment can promote lasting recovery–helping men to maintain their sobriety as they adjust in life both during and after treatment. Having been Sober Living residents in the past and with over a decade of combined experience in the recovery industry, they saw a gap in the local addiction treatment process. Using this experience, Callan decided to organize a more structured living situation for himselfand his newly sober friends. The basic rules of the house would center on accountability,sponsorship, meeting schedules, and house rules.

In 2002, Callan opened a second branch of that houseand ran both residences as sober houses. He moved into the new house to guide and support thenew roommates and hired a house manager for the original residence. At Stepping Stones Recovery Homes, our vision is to provide a supportive, structured environment where individuals in recovery can build a strong foundation through principles of recovery. Stepping Stones Recovery Homes was founded and operated by two active member of the recovery community Trent Musselwhite and Jamie Hilborn. Transitional housing is provided for (90) day sober living and Independent Sober Living for up to (3 years) for those in recovery from drug & alcoholism addiction.
