Three-quarter house offers a structured, transitional living program for adult men recovering from alcohol and drug addictions. Residents are required to participate in recovery support groups. Each Granada House has a dedicated house manager whose responsibility is to ensure the well being of the house occupants. All with at least one year of sobriety, the house managers show a commitment to working a 12-step program in their daily lives, and demonstrate through their actions that they can lead by example.

Why A Sober Living Home

Stepping Stones is equipped to house 14 women and 28 children at this time. The program is available to women at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level who reside in Washington County, have substance use issues, and are eligible for a reunification plan. In most instances, men  who live in sober homes have to follow certain house rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. Living in this type of environment can promote lasting recovery–helping men to maintain their sobriety as they adjust in life both during and after treatment. Having been Sober Living residents in the past and with over a decade of combined experience in the recovery industry, they saw a gap in the local addiction treatment process. Using this experience, Callan decided to organize a more structured living situation for himselfand his newly sober friends. The basic rules of the house would center on accountability,sponsorship, meeting schedules, and house rules.

In 2002, Callan opened a second branch of that houseand ran both residences as sober houses. He moved into the new house to guide and support thenew roommates and hired a house manager for the original residence. Transitional housing is provided for (90) day sober living and Independent Sober Living for up to (3 years) for those in recovery from drug & alcoholism addiction. CODA’s Stepping Stones program was created in 2007 as Oregon’s first 24-hour supported housing resource for women struggling with substance use disorders and who have custody of their children.
